Some good choices and plenty I haven’t played. As for myself Combat Commander (including Great War commander): My faveorite CC games are Pacific and Resistance. However if you’re talking tactical my all time favorite is Wing Leader which is Squadron level, equivalent to squad level. You’ve played it, i dont remember what your feelings were but it’s the game I have played the most. Also you should try Fighting Formations from Chad Jensen, it looks to be Platoon level but really it’s squad level. And of course Up Front which is ALWAYS fun and cool and any Combat Commander fan should play this also.
Thanks guys
Combat Commander number 1 – no doubt! I was a big Squad Leader guy until I played CC:E. 🙂 This video makes me want to try Fields of Fire and Conflict of Heroes. Great video, thanks!
I too like Combat Commander and was very disappointed that GMT and Chad Jensen walked away from it and have not developed if further. Waiting in vain for the North African version with “real” tank counters and rules.
Great video guys. I love CC, I like Conflict of Heroes, and I love Lock n Load Tactical! I have tried Old School Tactical, but have yet to form an opinion. Great video!
Guys, this was a fantastic list….you should update this every year. Being a solo player for the most part, nearly ALL of the games on your combined lists work for me. “Combat Infantry” is a real favorite. Honestly, I’m a little torn between OST and “Awakening the Bear”… in a sense they seem like the same system but I’m sure there are differences. I love the solo modules and the firefight system and want to try it. I’m very interested in “Ranger” and “Fields of Fire”… many of the reviewers also give this game high marks. *** I’m very tied into “Warfighter” as a tactical system and went out to buy it all! I know you have reviewed that system, but would love to know where it fits in your top five’s. I’d like to try Combat Commander, and maybe I’ll look for it on EBAY. Keep up the great work.
