Breakthrough: Cambrai is a two player game simulating the British assault to breach the “Hindenburg Line” between November 20 and December 3, 1917. One player controls the British forces, the other the German forces. The object of the game is to control a certain number of areas on the map or, for the British, to exit units off the map into certain perimeter zones. An area-movement game which uses impulse mechanics (where players alternate “mini-turns”) similar to popular games like Breakout: Normandy and Monty’s Gamble: Market Garden. The impulse nature of the game means little or no down time for each player while waiting for the other to complete a move or attack.

Hey Alexander,
Caught your unboxing… looks like an interesting game. There is a game, which might interest you, IF you can find it… it’s called Trenchfoot and, admittedly, it’s a very old game… really does teach you about trench warfare… not just WWI but other smaller wars as well. *** Also caught you game collection video. MAJOR KUDOS to your collection. I see you have REDS by GMT, which is a great Russian Civil War Game. Very good production quality. I also noted you didn’t have “Strike of the Eagle” by Academy games… try and pick it up, block style, really neat. Very jealous that you have all the C&C Napoleonic… been meaning to pick all this up. Noticed you didn’t have The Great War, a C&C game produced by PSC games… you’d really like that… mini’s, great production quality, AND a tank expansion. I would give you one game to take a chance on … “Operation Tannhauser” a painted mini’s game by Fantasy FLight. YES, you’d have to go to EBAY for this, but the system is SO MUCH FUN!!!! IF you liked Imperial Assault and that kind of game, you’d LOVE this one… four different factions, asymetrical victory conditions. There are several maps, and expansion figures. ALSO there is another Fantasy Flight game, called Gears of War… great mini’s, modular boards like Mansions of Madness… great sandbox game.
