I’m a huge fan of CDGs (Card Driven Games) as well as any game designed by Mark Herman. I have had my eye on the classic Washington’s War for a few years and finally had to pick up a copy. My copy is a 2nd printing of the game that was originally released in 2010.

This is a great game. It was easy enough to learn in a day and even my 10 year old son could play it with me (although, I did have to help him avoid major mistakes so it wasn’t too easy). I love the political control and it seems like establishing a strong political presence in colonies early in the game makes fighting battles later in the campaign easier.
I own Washington’s War as well as We the People. I have to say that I really loved the battle card system in We the People and I think it could have been integrated into Washington’s War. With the dice rolling aspect of fighting battles in Washington’s War it seems like the outcome of battles is more predictable (maybe this is more realistic though).
Thanks for the unboxing video and keep up the good work. You guys do a great job and even if I rarely leave comments I want you to know that I visit your site many times a week and read most of the stuff you guys post!
