Baptism By Fire: The Battle of Kasserine, February 1943 is a Battalion Combat Series games that deals with the first real ground operations by the US Army in the North African Theater during World War II. Every wargamer knows the outcome of the battle was an Allied setback. What is not obvious though is that Allied troops on the ground gave a good account of themselves against the remnants of Rommel’s vaunted Afrika Korps, despite the ineffective and confused leadership that existed at Corps level.
Baptism By Fire is the second game in the BCS Series and is designed as a more accessible entry to the system for those who want something smaller and faster than the earlier monster game. Here the wide open desert, limited number of Formations, and short scenario length provide players with a rapid and fun introduction to the series, the chance to develop their play skills to become a more effective BCS player overall, and to take a good look at this poorly understood battle.

This is the game I will try to learn around the summer to prepare my next Bulge campaign in Nov/Dec.
Very curious if it can ompete with my ansolute number one Enemy Action: Ardennes
I was already hugely impressed with that other great game system by MMP, the Grand Tactical System in Race for Bastogne.
So exciting wargame months to come in 2025.

We acquired our first GTS game in 2024 but have yet to get it to the table. Maybe soon.

I believe you guys referred to them in the video but, for a little more info:
The HQ display printouts (some folks call them counter sleds) are quite helpful with counter clutter and seem to speed up play since you can just glance at the sled to see what resources the unit has available.
These are available free on the MMP/gamers resources link.
I send them to Kinkos/Fedex to have them color printed on waterproof paper.
cheers!

We already purchased professionally printed card decks for all of our BCS games and are very glad that we did. They do make a huge difference. Thank you.
