From Cover to Cover: A Signaller’s War: The Sketchbook Diary of Pte. L. Ellis – Pte. Ellis

Alexander has started a new video series on our YouTube Channel called From Cover to Cover where he reads a book on a subject and then pairs that with a discussion of the book while covering a few games also on the subject. In this sixth entry in the series, he takes a look at the diary entries of a British soldier in Pte. L. Ellis as he gives unique insight into the day-to-day existence of a young volunteer who grows from a boy to a man during his service, after witnessing the aftermath of the Somme and action at Cambrai. He then talks about several games on the subject including Red Poppies Campaigns: Volume 3 – Assault Artillery – La Malmaison from Compass Games and Paths of Glory: The First World War, 1914-1918 from GMT Games.
