Andean Abyss, which is the first game in the COIN Series, is simply a masterpiece! This game was originally published in 2012 and I didn’t get to actually play and experience the game until around 2019 when the 2nd Printing was released. Over the past several months, I have played about 40 games of Andean Abyss on Rally the Troops! and each time I play it I fall more in love with the game and with the COIN Series itself. If you haven’t played Andean Abyss, you are missing out.

Alexander recently shot a 4-part video series called Faction Function (I am not in love with this title but they were his videos!) that takes a look at each of the four factions found in Andean Abyss including the FARC, AUC, Government and Cartels.

Wow. Excellent series! I don’t even own AA and I feel like I could jump in like a pro! That’s just from the gaming perspective. From an overarching, high level COIN perspective, the discussion about these four factions and how they interact as fascinating. Brilliantly done Alexander!

It’s Colombia. A few of my associates from Medellin will be around soon to help with your spell checking.

Andean Abyss is great…..IMO, it is so hard to win as the gov’t. I think it takes a fair bit of luck w/ the Event Cards.
I look forward to getting some tips from Alexander.
God Bless the dude that runs the Rally the Troops website….so great.

Government is very hard to play well. If you can get it working, it is fantastic but just so slow and clunky. Events are probably more helpful for the Govt for sure.
And Rally the Troops! is a fantastic platform and I am very grateful for the guy who runs it.

Jesus, doesn’t anyone know how to write and include illustrations?
I have better things to do than spend an HOUR listening to you when I can read a review of all you cover in one quarter of the time. Instead, I have to listen and listen and listen to your verbal fumblings and hesitations and awkward hand motions.

Hahahaha. Well, that is a take for sure. It is a video and I share them here on the blog as a change of pace to my writing. I have lots of posts like this on various games but not on Andean Abyss.
