We continue our series of Monthly Debrief Videos with November 2021. This eleventh video in the series saw us discuss our wargaming story and background and what led us to found The Players’ Aid. We also covered the games we played in November and our very ambitious slate of games to be played in December.

Hey Guys,
Settled back and caught your narrative. I found it interesting how you developed your channel. I was also impressed that both of you NEVER want this to be a job. When I came “on board” with game videos, like so many people, I was watching TDT. Like “Man and Meeples “, it was pretty well organized, and covered a lot of content. Eventually, as we all know, Tom, Zee, and Sam became a business, in terms of doing all this full time… with a KSer page, and all. As appealing as that may seem, it wasn’t long before all that innovation turned into a very business like atmosphere, for the reviews and everything else. It became pretty stale, after awhile.
I don’t find that with your content. Yes, you ramble but I think we all really like that… you mispronounce words, laugh and generally just shoot from the hips… just like the rest of us, and I find that really comfortable. Within all that, the fact that both of you do the “hard work” of reading rule books, playing through first time mistakes, and giving us an HONEST look at what might be a very expensive game… is admirable.
What I find really “user friendly” is the fact that you STILL love gaming, and are STILL curious to explore what might come your way… small publishers, off the wall games, and the designer interviews both new and established.
Like you guys, it’s great to explore and discover the many facets of this hobby.
I also like the idea that both of you may know NOTHING about the historical period you are gaming about… Hell, we all can’t be all knowing about history… but you are STILL eager to jump in.
Lots of folks hand us game reviews, and create “content”. but (somehow), I feel like I’m having a conversation with my game “buddies” and not some “expert”… that allows me to completely trust your conclusions knowing that there is no guile involved. I was on the “fence” about “Wearing the Purple” and “dual powers”, but after listening to the review decided to buy it. You didn’t let me down. There were also games I had no real interest in, and after looking at the review… focused my limited cash on the games I did find interesting. GOOD JOB!
I think, as a gamer, both of you have done the community, at large, a great service… and I’ll be looking forward to the monthly “mop up” and all further reviews… THANK YOU!
