The hits just keep on coming from GMT Games this year and Bayonets & Tomahawks: The French & Indian War is a very good game. In fact, Bayonets & Tomahawks is a special game and frankly was the most enjoyable wargame that I have played thus far in 2021. What it tries to do, it does very well and creates a very engaging and interesting simulation of this titanic struggle for the future of the continent.
Here is a link to my First Impressions written post on the game that goes into some great depth on the mechanics and how the game models the frontier: https://theplayersaid.com/2021/06/22/first-impressions-bayonets-tomahawks-the-french-indian-war-from-gmt-games/

When it comes to Player Aids, TPA is *THE* authority.
How did you find the treatment of diplomacy with indigenous tribes, and Indian culture in general? I’d love to know if you have more thoughts on this – although I realise it’s also a sensitive issue for some.
Great content!

The Indians are represented by a separate deck of cards that the French have access to. They don’t have to treat with them but just use their cards
The British get Indian Allie’s through events on their cards. That’s it. Somewhat abstracted.
