Very useful video. I’d love to see more content for those of us who are eurogamers dabbling in wargames. For example, what are the main features / challenges / attractions offered by operational, tactical and strategic (or other) level games?
I am always impressed with how our hobby has grown and matured when I look back at the rule sets for my early games: AH’s Gettysburg, Dispatcher, and Midway; Yaqunito’s Battles and Leaders. These are all from the mid-60’s and a far cry from today’s rule books.
I am also surprised you didn’t mention the ASL Rule Book along with Lock ‘n Loads Core Rules. While certainly massive, ASL’s core rules for Infantry are not that difficult to master. Other rules covering specific terrain types, weather, and multiple theaters come into play as needed.
