España 1936 is a game of historical simulation that recreates the Spanish Civil War from 1936-1939. It is played on a board depicting Spain and divided in connected zones, with counters at operational level. It has cards to develop the events of the war and to modify decisive battles. It does not have any CRT, and the combats are simple but real for the conflict. The turn and the combats are alternative, which creates a great interaction between the players. 16 years after its first publication, España 1936 returns to stores with a completely renewed art and in an edition that includes the expansion “The Armada”, the 1938 scenario and the addition of 8 cards, for optional use, which add uncertainty to the events.
Designed by Antonio Catalán, this new edition has illustrations by Joan Guardiet (The White Castle, Checkpoint Charlie). It allows games for two players, from 14 years old, lasting about 120 minutes.
