We do not cover many digital games on the blog. It is not that we don’t like them or play them but it just isn’t who we are. With that being said, I can make an exception to that when the digital game is a very interesting and unique looking tactical leadership RPG about small unit command during World War II. Burden of Command is an emotionally authentic tactical leadership RPG. The player takes on the role of a company Captain in the historical U.S. Army 7th Infantry Regiment known as the “Cottonbalers”. Fighting psychology as much as bullets, you must build respect, trust, and battlefield experience to bring your brothers safely home.

*Contains infrequent historical photographs of graphic violence and disease to better illuminate the brutality of war. Not suitable for children. One section is exceptionally severe and contains sustained graphic imagery. An option is given to skip, though this is not encouraged. Mature topics such as PTSD (“Combat Fatigue”) and sexual disease are covered. Language can be strong. The intent is to help convey the realities of WWII and of war.

To get a bit of a better idea about what Burden of Command is, I would direct you to a Guest Blog post we hosted in 2018 written by project lead Luke Hughes going into details about what the game is and is trying to accomplish.
