The April 2024 Monthly Debrief Video saw us discussing the subject of the games we like to play when the camera is turned off and we are looking to have an enjoyable evening of gaming! This mostly includes cooperative games or semi-cooperative games, Ameritrash games, games with lots of player interaction, combat and miniatures! There are also some wargames thrown in there but these are typically not those games.
Also as usual, we covered the games we played in April and provided a look ahead at what games we plan on playing in May.
We will remind you here that we are fortunate to be continuing our relationship with Noble Knight Games as the sponsor for our Monthly Debrief Video series. In case you don’t know, Noble Knight Games specializes in hard to find games but also carry all the new releases. But what makes them truly unique is that you can find some of the rarest games, long out of print games, hand made games, imported games from overseas, etc. Thanks to them for their sponsorship and we hope that you will consider them first when looking for the games we cover.

Wow Machiavelli would be older than Alexander. Does this mean you’ll start a new segment titled ‘Playing Games of Ancient History- published before 1990’? I recommend Avalon Hill’s Republic of Rome (1990) after you finish with Machiavelli. The designer of Machiavelli also did Flat Top and Wooden Ship & Iron Men, both good games. I think Alexander saved me from Burning Banners as it was all sold out by the time I placed my spring sale order with Noble Knight. BCS games are all sold out except for Panzers Last Stand and Valley of Tears, which I managed to get, I hope MMP does reprints.

I sent an email regarding the Here I Stand dice. Looking forward to upgrading my copy.

W will log it and be in touch. I think we’ve had about 20 respond. As such we might be able to get the manufacturing cost down to $60 per set.

I know you like to teach Fire In The Lake. A couple years ago I bought 2 sets of custom dice for it and for Gandhi. If you think you’d like them, I’d be happy to send them to you.

Question. Do you think your wives would enjoy playing Orange Shall Overcome!? Would you even consider suggesting to them this game?
Thanks,

Kevin. The ladies in our lives do not do very well with our games. They don’t like to listen to rules explanations very well and lose interest very quickly. Their type of game is dominoes, Phase 10 and other simple card games. It would most likely be a waste of time. Hahaha.
