Our thoughts following our initial play of Colonial Twilight: The French-Algerian War, 1954-62 from GMT Games. A superbly designed 2-player experience in the vaunted COIN Series of games. We were unsure if the 2-player setup would work well but it was great with the newly designed initiative track that just works perfectly. We look forward to exploring this game some more in the near future.

22:00 if you look at the flowchart for the sequence of play in the 4-faction games (eg. A Distant Plain), you’ll see it’s the same relations between first and second-acting player options.
25:10 re this and other comments about the OAS card – as I pointed out in our discussion on BGG, the Government can also use this card to reduce the FLN’s total of Oppose, and to force a (relatively) large loss of Resources on them.
