This past weekend, Alexander and I were able to play Saipan The Bloody Rock from Compass Games for the very first time. This video is our initial thoughts after playing Scenario #1 Shattered Jewels, which is intended to teach the rules about movement, Opportunity Fire, Fire and Banzai attacks. We enjoyed the game greatly and look forward to playing again soon.
If you are interested, here is our Unboxing Video and here are links to little snippets of gameplay that we refer to as Action Points that are intended to give you a look inside gameplay at various rules and situations. Action Point 1: Opportunity Fire and Action Point 2: Banzai (Gyokusai) Attacks.
Let us know your thoughts on the video as well as your experiences with the game itself.

Great review of what looks to be a great game and simulation. In what I’ve read so far in the rules and scenario booklet, Adam and Ross sure seem like they care about the subject matter and men involved in the battle; as well as the consumer. They’ve been pretty active on BGG and CSW answering questions about the new series.
This is a game I’ve been waiting for – a company level game on the PTO.

I have really enjoyed the game and I have also wanted a playable monster on the PTO for a long time. This game is well done, has beautiful art and counters, plays well and tells a great narrative. I am going to start the Dog Day Scenario solo soon so I’ll be doing some AARs as I go. Thanks for reading (or watching in your case!).
